Yankees relief prospect Eric Reyzelman, 23, experienced a severe allergic reaction on Wednesday morning, just before the team’s first spring training workout for pitchers and catchers. He was promptly transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he remained overnight for observation. By Thursday morning, Reyzelman was discharged in stable condition and rejoined his teammates at the training facility.

The allergic reaction was triggered by Reyzelman consuming a product containing peanuts. He expressed gratitude for the swift actions of the Yankees’ training staff, stating, “They took really, really good care of me.” Manager Aaron Boone noted that Reyzelman was in “good spirits” following the incident.
Reyzelman, a non-roster invitee, had an impressive 2024 season at Double-A, recording a 1.93 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 23 1/3 innings. He is expected to resume his training shortly, aiming to secure a spot in the Yankees’ bullpen for the upcoming MLB season, which begins on March 27.
